Make information easier to understand
Develop plain-language material about common changes connected to dementia and Alzheimer’s disease without making it feel clinical, impersonal, or overwhelming.
Building Hope. Supporting Families. Advancing Research.
The Sanroma Foundation is a Massachusetts 501(c)(3) public charity focused on education, family support, community engagement, and the long-term advancement of Alzheimer’s and dementia research.
The foundation’s first work will be shaped by research, community input, caregivers, and people already serving the field.
About the foundation
The Sanroma Foundation is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) public charity based in Billerica, Massachusetts. Its primary focus is supporting individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and related neurodegenerative conditions through education, awareness, community engagement, and future research support.
The Foundation’s inaugural year has focused on building a responsible nonprofit structure, developing public resources, pursuing grant opportunities, and forming relationships that can support meaningful programs over time.
Our goal is to turn that foundation into practical action: clearer information for families, stronger community connections, thoughtful partnerships, and sustainable support for programs and research.
Our first year has been about creating the foundation for everything that comes next.

Our direction
The foundation is not trying to do everything at once. These are the areas being explored first.
Develop plain-language material about common changes connected to dementia and Alzheimer’s disease without making it feel clinical, impersonal, or overwhelming.
Identify local caregiver, aging, health, and memory-care resources while paying attention to the places where families still have trouble finding guidance.
Continue conversations with researchers, nonprofit leaders, university representatives, health organizations, caregivers, and community partners.
Invite a limited number of people with experience in dementia, caregiving, philanthropy, nonprofit leadership, and Greater Lowell community work.
Development
The formal nonprofit structure is in place. The current stage is about learning, building credibility, and choosing a first initiative carefully.
The Sanroma Foundation has the legal nonprofit structure needed to begin developing charitable work, partnerships, and future support.
Jason is meeting with people who understand foundations, nonprofit development, health needs, community partnerships.
The next stage is identifying a small group of people who can offer expertise, challenge assumptions, and help connect the foundation with the right organizations.
The first initiative will be selected only after the foundation can clearly explain the need, the intended impact, and why it is positioned to help.

Foundation notes
Updates are kept straightforward so the website reflects what has actually happened.
The next outreach will seek practical guidance from experienced foundation and community leaders, including contacts recommended during the meeting.
Jason met with community engagement leadership to discuss focus, measurable impact, local relationships, and the importance of learning before making grants.
The foundation now has the formal structure needed to begin developing partnerships, future initiatives, and charitable support.
